Goals
The Secoli di Mezzo project was created to rediscover and promote the main genres and contexts of Greek poetry production in the 4th century BC, together with the musical practice and theory of the time.
The aim is to make high-quality content accessible through digital tools: teaching materials, video lessons, thematic courses and self-assessment tools for scholars, teachers and students. The website www.secolidimezzo.com is the digital core of the scientific project.
The project is supported, as part of the PNRR – Italia Domani, by the European Union – Next Generation EU and by the Ministry of University and Research (PRIN 2022, no. 20227H5JF2, CUP D53D23023100006).
The expected impact is twofold:
– on the one hand, to contribute to the recovery and identification of personalities and phenomena, to grasp the lines of transformation, the conditions of historical production and circulation, and to restore to the poetry and music of this period their specificity and role in the cultural dynamics of ancient Greece, between tradition and innovation;
– on the other hand, to promote the conscious enjoyment of ancient Greek cultural heritage through the use of innovative and inclusive educational technologies.
